Planning is underway for the Minnesota political party precinct caucuses.

The caucuses are taking place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, for all political parties in Minnesota. This includes Constitution, Democratic-Farmer-Labor, Green, Independence, and Republican parties.

The main purpose of the precinct caucuses is to select candidates for the 2012 election.

Fire Dept. Offering Free Shoveling for Military Families

The South Metro Fire Department is offering free snow shoveling services this winter to families with deployed military members. The program is part of the community's "Beyond the Yellow Ribbon" program.
